About

The blog “Prekerni Osir” (Precarious Wasps Nest) was established in the framework of the Ljubljana stock exchange (Boj Za) occupation, and in connection to the workshop Against Precarity – For Commonfare. On the workshops we are focused on our personal stories, above all on how are they interwoven in the system of violence of financial capitalism. Due to the plurality of different occupational positions and regimes of work, degrees of social insecurity, inequalities in solving accommodation problems and accessibility of education system, lives of individuals are precarised on various points of intersection. Since it is materialized in such different forms, the notion of precarity is very ungraspable but at the same time it characterizes the lives of individuals on a general level/ being as a whole. Individuals live in ever increasing insecurity because of circumstances on a labor market (flexibilisation of labor force, underpaid work, fear of being unemployed), circumstances on real estate market (high rents and prices of flats), abolishing/decreasing of social rights, increasing of costs for basic living necessities, barriers proceeding from migration regimes and increasing privatization of commonfare. Our lives are more and more exposed to various pressures, risks and atomization through the assault on social security, workers’ rights and the strengthening of exclusions.

But we didn’t choose such a situation, it was imposed on us!

Nobody will speak about precariousness in our lives if we won’t speak for ourselves. Silence is connected to the fear of stigmatization. Most of the time we feel precarity very well but we are unable to explain it. The intention of Prekerni Osir is exactly this: we want to destigmatise insecurity, reveal our stories and expose our needs and desires, which nobody represents.

Let’s catch our precarity, so we can fight it together! What is your story?
